I believe women’s words matter . . .
I love words and sparking change with them by writing, speaking and teaching. I believe we’re meant to be brilliant, bright, shiny beings. All of us – otherwise, why would we come here?
I treasure the good . . .
I’m blessed to live with my partner in two places – in the city on a hilltop overlooking the Missouri River and in the peaceful open space of Colorado’s western slope. I’m thrilled to be the mother of two wise, compassionate women and overjoyed to be a grandmama to two more little women. With a sister as my one and only sibling, I am definitely from a family of women!
I follow my head and my heart . . .
I’ve learned that the only person holding me back is usually me AND I love to leap. (Both things can absolutely be true.) Which is why I’ve gone to India four times, moved halfway across the country to a place where the one person I knew moved after nine days, been the first on other side of my family to graduate from college, and taken up road cycling and cross-country skiing when I was 59.
I believe life can be fun and beautiful and magical. That doesn’t mean there haven’t been and won’t be hard parts. I’m grown up enough to have experienced some of both.
I delight in seeing women thrive . . .
I love sitting in circle with women and have found great meaning and benefit to it, which is why I feel so blessed to have created the We-Can and Si, Se Puede Circles at a women’s center in Tacoma, WA. After heading a non-profit organization founded by 12 women to open workplace doors, my heart leaps when I see women advancing in their chosen professions, in ways that work for them. I know firsthand the power of mentors and wayshowers and am deeply grateful for the fabulous teachers I’ve had along the way.
I know together we can do it . . .
My ultimate revelation is that every day on this planet is an amazing gift, a chance to do something beautiful, to listen, to learn, to grow, to use our voices and our power as women to make a difference, to shift the energy and that all that can be really, really, really fun and magnificent.
I would love to stay in touch . . .
